Emerson Bible Church invites you to an evening concert of Worship. Alma Rivera, Psalmist and Worship leader will lead you into Praise and Thanksgiving. Saturday, November 19 @ 7:30 PM. Recording artist Alma Rivera has just released her single “King of Glory”, a Gospel /Contemporary Worship style track from her EP album, “Livin’ in your Love”, with Alma being one of the songwriters. This breathtaking piece was recorded with top of the line musicians that have worked in the past with Fred Hammond, Israel Houghton, Coko, Sound of New Breed, Nicole C. Mullen, Alvin Slaughter, Cece Winans and Martha Munizzi, among others.
Alma was born in Mexico City, Mexico where she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at the age of 11. This revelation to sing for the Lord came at the age of 17 while reading Isaiah 61. With this insight from God, by faith she started to prepare herself to enter the Biblical Institute of World Ministries located in Morelia Mexico. Alma is a very happy, enthusiastic and determined person, who loves God with all her heart. She showcases a multicultural background through her music. The Emerson Bible Church has a rich history of ministering to the community and recently celebrated its 100 year anniversary.
In 1897, the town of Etna, now known as Emerson, did not contain a church
or Sunday School. In September 1897, a group of concerned Christians started the Sunday School. On November 12, 1900, the first church service was held in the same building that is used today. The educational/gym building was dedicated on January 10, 1971. EBC continues the ministry of gospel preaching and teaching to this day.
